The prefecture Lasithi is the most eastern prefecture of Kriti.At his three sides Lasithi is wetted by sea: the Cretan sea from northern, Ikario easternly and Libyko in the southerners. Westwards it is the Prefecture Heraklion with natural limit his mountain range Dikti.Capital of prefecture Lasithi is Saint Nikolaos.
The prefecture is characterized by the busy parts and the cosmopolitan beaches but maintains also unadulterated natural beauties as palmforest in Bai and archaeological spaces of big interest.

The prefecture of Heraklion is bounded with the prefectures of Rethymno to the west and Lasithi to the east. The valley of farmlands are situated in the central and the northern parts and within the coastline and valleys. The mountains dominate the rest of the prefecture including the south.
The main mountains are parts of Ida or Idi Mountains to the west and Asterousia in the south.
The prefecture Heraklion is the most developed in the tourism of Crete island with intense nightly life and a lot of historical and archaeological monuments.

The prefecture Rethymno allocates a lot of and appreciable parts, historical, archaeological but also religious importance. In the exit from the city of Rethymno and crossing the national road northern, to direction for Heraklion, we meet tourist developed coastal regions, as Misiria, Adele, Stayromenos, Panormo, Bali and other. The prefecture, has a lot of churches and abbeys, as also and caverns, that deserves somebody to visits. In the 23rd km from the city of Rethymno, we meet the region Koxare and continuing southernly, the street passes from Koyrtaliotiko gorge in order to it reaches in the village Asomati. One kilometre afterwards the village, exists other carrefour left, that leads to the Abbey Prebeli, under which is found the Big river, where can somebody reach only with walk.
